As the Cowboys and Cowgirls continue to play in post-season tournaments, the excitement continues to grow.
Thursday March 16th, the Cowgirls played against Seattle University in the Women's National Invitation Tournament. After winning game one, they hosted Washington State University on Saturday. After a hard fought game and a devastating missed shot in overtime, the Cowgirls lost by a single point.
The Cowboys entered round two of the College Basketball Invitational after an exciting win against Eastern Washington University. They played UMKC on Monday, March 20th. With a great performance, the cowboys came out with the win, advancing to the semi-final game. They would play a great team from our neighboring state, Utah Valley University. It would be a tough game, and the Cowboys would need to be their best.
After a very long game, a back and forth battle, and a game that came down to the last few minutes, the Cowboys came out with the win. They would advance to the CBI tournament finals!!
The CBI finals are run in a best 2 out of 3 format. The Cowboys head to South Carolina on Monday to play game one and then will return to Laramie to play game two on Wednesday.
Until next time,
Ashley
